ERP evolution with AI Agents, Infor CloudSuite and Velocity Suite: an interview with Enrico Capogrosso

Enterprise Resource Planning systems are entering a new era. ERP platforms are evolving from transactional systems into intelligent business environments capable of supporting both decision-making and day-to-day operations.

Infor is helping shape this evolution through its CloudSuite solutions, Velocity Suite and the introduction of Industry AI Agents. To better understand what this means for organizations and how they can successfully adopt these technologies, we spoke with Enrico Capogrosso, recently appointed Head of the Infor Business Unit at Atlantic Technologies.

At the same time, the interest in artificial intelligence continues to grow. Organisations increasingly want to understand how AI can be integrated into their processes to improve productivity and enable faster, more informed decisions. 

My priority is to help companies build smarter and more resilient operating models, while strengthening Atlantic Technologies' role as a digital consulting partner and AI Enabler, capable of combining industry expertise, process knowledge and a results-driven approach focused on delivering measurable business outcomes.

One of Atlantic key strengths is the deep consulting expertise in cloud technologies and the strong understanding of industrial processes. How important is it today to have industry-specific expertise when helping companies navigate this evolution?

When managing complex transformation projects, it is essential to have a team that speaks the same language as business users and can translate customer requirements into projects that generate real value. Atlantic Technologies' Infor Business Unit has built solid expertise over the years in Infor M3 CloudSuite and, more recently, Infor LN, developing a deep understanding of industrial processes and the specific needs of different industries.

My goal is to build on this heritage while further strengthening our implementation methodology to address the evolving needs of the market: greater security, stronger governance and increased operational agility. As part of this journey, we aim to expand our ability to create value through integration, automation and artificial intelligence. 

Speaking of AI, Infor has recently invested heavily in intelligent automation with the launch of Infor Industry AI Agents, AI agents designed for specific industries and business roles. What opportunities do these agents create, and how does Atlantic support organizations in adopting this new generation of Agentic AI?

Industry AI Agents represent a significant evolution in artificial intelligence. They are built on deep industry expertise and are ready to use from day one within the Infor ecosystem. They help organizations automate complex activities, support operational decision-making and improve productivity, efficiency and process quality.

Their distinctive value lies in their ability to operate within the context of a specific industry, from automotive to food & beverage, leveraging real-time business data while maintaining the highest standards of governance, security and transparency.

When AI is embedded directly within the ERP, where data, workflows and processes are already connected, it becomes a practical tool that supports people in their day-to-day activities without disrupting operational flows. 

However, technology alone is not enough. At Atlantic, we support customers from AI strategy definition through implementation, starting with business priorities and process assessments to identify the use cases with the highest potential value. Through a dedicated AI roadmap, we design architectures, data models and processes that are ready to enable scalable automation and intelligent capabilities, maximizing the value of the Infor investment while connecting it to the broader enterprise ecosystem.

What role does Atlantic Technologies Center of Excellence play in this journey, and what is the value of having distributed teams and specialist expertise on a global scale?

Our Infor & AI Center of Excellence is a strategic component of the evolution journey we are building together with our customers. Developed in collaboration with Engineering, it is based in India and brings together a highly qualified team dedicated to global projects, innovative technology solutions and AI initiatives that continuously enrich the skills and capabilities of our entire organization.

Over the years, we have built a distributed delivery model that combines local market knowledge with global specialist expertise. Our teams across India, North America and Romania enable us to support customers continuously, share know-how and manage complex projects involving multiple sites and operations across different countries.

Finally, Enrico, what do you see for organisations over the next three to five years?

Technology will continue to evolve rapidly. ERP systems will increasingly become part of intelligent ecosystems where people, data, applications and AI agents work together to support faster decisions and more effective processes. What will truly make the difference is the ability to govern technology with vision, methodology and the right skills. 

The organisations that can successfully integrate people, data, processes and technology will gain the most significant competitive advantage of the coming years.
