Certified Origins: a more efficient and traceable supply chain with Oracle JD Edwards and AI

Certified Origins specialises in the international distribution of certified olive oil.

The company needed to evolve its enterprise management infrastructure to effectively address the complexities of a global supply chain and support business expansion. Its key priorities included:

• improving inventory valuation processes, including compliance with accounting requirements;
• enhancing control and traceability across the entire supply chain;
• optimising production planning processes;
• supporting complex, integrated logistics operations between Italy and the United States;
• simplifying access to and analysis of traceability data.

To address these needs, Atlantic Technologies supported Certified Origins in the evolution of its Oracle JD Edwards system, enhancing key operational processes and data management across the value chain.

The project focused first on optimizing core processes related to inventory, logistics, and day-to-day supply chain operations. EDI interfaces were also implemented to connect external logistics providers and customers, enabling greater integration of information flows.

A key component of the ERP project for the Food & Beverage industry was the development of an AI application for batch traceability within Oracle JD Edwards. The solution enables the precise tracking of raw materials through every stage of the production process, all the way to the finished product. It provides a high level of detail while supporting the management of large volumes of data.

To make this information even easier to access and use, the project also introduced AI capabilities powered by Gemini to process and present traceability data in a more intuitive way. This approach helped overcome the complexity of traditional excel reports, making information more accessible and easier for users to understand and interpret.
